In my degree project, I examine the concept of the ‘art journal’. For about 15 weeks, I have immersed myself in this artistic process. I am studying to become a subject teacher in Art and Media and the art journal is linked to my degree project which is a study of how journaling as a concept can be used in upper secondary school.
The idea that the student as an individual should be given the opportunity and time to process their impressions and experiences, and should be given the opportunity to develop their creativity, is one of the Swedish National Agency for Education´s many aims for the subject of art.
In this art journal, I invite the viewer to look at pieces from my own journey of discovery with this concept.
I min gestaltning undersöker jag konceptet av “art journal”. Under ungefär 15 veckor har jag arbetat med en egen art journal vilket har varit en del av min studie. Då jag läser till ämneslärare i bild och media är gestaltningen kopplad till mitt examensarbete som är en studie över hur art journal som koncept skulle kunna användas i gymnasieskolan för att hjälpa eleven till reflektion samt att bearbeta och utveckla sin skapande förmåga.
Att eleven ska ges utrymme och tid att bearbeta sina intryck och upplevelser, samt ska ges möjlighet att utveckla sin kreativitet är ett av Skolverkets många syften med bildämnet.
I denna art journal bjuder jag in betraktaren att ta del av bitar från min egen upptäcktsresa med detta koncept.
