Climate change stands on our doorstep and collectively we must change our way of life if we are to cope with the transition to a sustainable society. Change, however, often begins with insight within the individual.
Genuine appreciation of nature and a motivation to act ethically in action towards it is often motivated by positive experiences of nature.
But how can educators create conditions for such experiences? And how can aesthetic engagement affect the building of relationships between man and nature?
These are questions I investigate in my degree project, where I explore the relationship between man and nature together with a group of young people. This is examined through creative workshops both in the forest and indoors, where sensory experiences are in focus.
Klimatförändringar står för dörren och vi som kollektiv måste förändra vårt sätt att leva om vi ska klara omställningen till ett hållbart samhälle. Förändring börjar dock ofta med en insikt hos individen.
Genuin uppskattning av naturen och motivation till att agera etiskt i handling gentemot den motiveras ofta av positiva naturupplevelser.
Men hur kan pedagoger skapa förutsättningar för sådana upplever? Och hur kan estetiskt engagemang verka relationsbyggande mellan människa och natur?
Det här är frågor jag berör i mitt examensarbete där jag utforskar relationen mellan människa och natur tillsammans med en grupp ungdomar. Detta undersöks genom kreativa workshops både i skogen och inomhus, där sinnliga upplevelser står i fokus.
