For nearly half of their time in the programme, this year’s graduating students have had to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions it has brought. Despite this, the students have continued to work and complete their studies with an incredible focus and desire to reach out with their works.
In their efforts with their degree projects, they have all exhibited courage, determination and perseverance. They have developed and deepened their various orientations and projects with curiosity and conviction.
During the pandemic, textile materials and crafts have taken on an increasingly pertinent role. The need for tactile encounters and for creating contentment and experiences has grown.
Many of the degree projects are about the students investigating and starting from their own innate power and will to create, and from the desire to find working methods and approaches for a long and sustainable artistic career. Through the students’ works, we get the opportunity to experience their perspectives, which include subjects such as environmental work, sustainability, gender identity, class, play, the power of textile crafts and materials, professional identity and dreams.

Årets examensstudenter har under nära halva sin studietid tvingats förhålla sig till coronapandemin och de begränsningar den inneburit. Trots detta har studenterna fortsatt att arbeta och bedriva sina studier med ett oerhört fokus och en stark vilja att nå ut med sina arbeten.
Under arbetet med sina examensarbeten har de alla visat prov på mod, målinriktning och egensinnighet. De har utvecklat och fördjupat sina olika riktningar och projekt med nyfikenhet och övertygelse.
Under pandemin har de textila materialen och hantverken fått en alltmer angelägen roll. Behovet av taktila upplevelser och av att skapa trivsel och upplevelser har växt.
Många examensarbeten handlar om att studenterna undersöker och utgår från sin egen ursprungliga kraft och vilja att skapa och från viljan att hitta arbetsmetoder och förhållningssätt för ett långt och hållbart konstnärligt yrkesliv. Genom studenternas arbeten får vi uppleva deras perspektiv som spänner över ämnen som miljöarbete, hållbarhet, könsidentitet, klass, lek, kraften i de textila hantverken och materialen, yrkesidentitet och drömmar.
