I welcome you to The Altar of Friendship. The altar at which I worship. A space celebrating community and collectivism. A relationship that is the root of resistance. Through comics and animations, I create a joyful labour of love that expands and elevates friendship.
My degree project recontextualises the frivolity, friction and fantasy of friendship as its inherent defiance of neoliberalism and the patriarchy.
At my altar, friendship is the space marginalised people create to reimagine the world. It is the rituals we practice that become an active remaking of our world. Friendship is care and comfort, but it is also critique and co-creation. Friendship is the promise of freedom.
Jag välkomnar dig till Vänskapens altare. Altaret där jag dyrkar. En plats som hyllar gemenskap och kollektivism. En relation som är grunden för motstånd. Genom tecknade serier och animationer skapar jag ett jublande kärleksarbete som utvidgar och förhöjer vänskapen.
Mitt examensprojekt rekontextualiserar lättsinnet, motsättningarna och spänningen i en vänskap, och dess inneboende motstånd mot neoliberalismen och patriarkatet.
På mitt altare är vänskapen den plats som människor i samhällets utkanter skapar för att kunna föreställa sig världen igen. Det är de ritualer vi använder som blir ett aktivt omskapande av vår värld. Vänskap är omtanke och tröst, men även kritik och medskapande. Vänskapen är löftet om frihet.
