Taking the hand for a walk playfully investigates the making process with a critical consideration of questions, such as..
How does the material interact with the imagination?
How do we tell stories, unhindered by ‘skill’ or ‘craft’?
How do different materials produce different feelings or senses?
How does material open up ways of being in the world?
How do we imagine a new future through our hands?
Taking the hand for a walk seeks to champion process, spotlight making as a legitimate form of research, challenge material hierarchies and ultimately champion the value of the experience of making, as apposed to the spectacle of the product.
Taking the hand for a walk manifests in a publication & exhibition exploring these questions. The exhibition space is transformed from the spectacle into the experience, through activating the space. I invite the participants to explore these questions together using the subject of a goose.

Hur interagerar materialet med fantasin?
Hur berättar vi historier, utan att hindras av ”skicklighet” eller ”hantverk”?

Hur kan vi föreställa oss en ny framtid genom våra händer?
Ta handen för en promenad strävar efter att bemästra processen, sätta sökarljuset på skapande som en legitim form för undersökande, utmana materialhierarkier och slutligen försvara värdet av själva erfarenheten av att skapa i motsats till en uppvisning av produkten.
Ta en hand för en promenad manifesteras i en publikation och utställning som utforskar dessa frågor. Utställningsutrymmet förvandlas från ett uppvisning till en upplevelse genom att aktivera rummet. Jag inbjuder deltagarna att tillsammans utforska dessa frågor genom att använda en gås som tema.
