‘Rendering’ shown at Konstnärshuset. The work Rendering is based on the large skylight in Stora Galleriet and operates in two ways. Its form is a partial representation of the windows grid, with the window-panes replaced by mirrors. The eyes of the viewer are therefore drawn to the skylight above, gesturing towards its connection to the outside cityscape. Simultaneously, this piece reflects the outdoor light thereby drawing attention to this inherent structural detail, on which the gallery space is dependent for the flow of natural daylight.

My work revolves around spatial examinations of the places we inhabit, connected to structural ideas of certain environments interpreted through architectural conceptualizations such as form and function.
These scrutinizations take place primarily through the usage of sculptural and video-based interventions, in which I utilize abstraction and repetition to play with preconceived notions concerning the perception of our surroundings. The places I work with encompass the public environment as well as the institutions we inhabit; I aim to challenge ideas of time and space, inside and outside, private and public, functionality alongside aesthetics, and how our considerations of these places comprise an integral piece of ourselves as collective individuals.
Any place serves to compose itself in fragments; as a way to acknowledge and investigate this, I want to examine the emergent properties of the architecture of this specific place – what constitutes it and what surrounds us – aiming to offer an alternative spatial imagination.
Mitt arbete tar sin utgångspunkt i spatiala undersökningar av de platser vi befinner oss på, kopplat till strukturella idéer om olika miljöer visualiserade i dess arkitektur genom exempelvis form och funktion.
Dessa undersökningar sker främst genom skulpturala samt videobaserade interventioner där jag använder mig av abstraktion och upprepning för att leka med föreställningar om hur vi vanligtvis tittar på våra omgivningar. Platser jag arbetar med inbegriper det offentliga rummet och likaså institutionerna där vi verkar; jag vill utmana begrepp om tid och rum, insida och utsida, publikt och privat, funktionalitet jämte estetik, samt hur vår uppfattning av dessa platser utgör en del av oss själva som kollektiva individer.
En plats formar sig själv genom dess fragment; som ett sätt att förstå och undersöka detta vill jag belysa grundläggande arkitektoniska detaljer av denna specifika plats – vad utgör den och vad omger oss – för att förhoppningsvis erbjuda en alternativ rumslig uppfattning.
