Control, chance and intuition in the transformation of the forest’s design bank in digital and analogue design tools.
With its untamed and complex expressions, the forest is an inspiring design bank.
This degree project uses modern digital tools and more traditional craft methods, along with a combination of control, chance and intuition, in a design process aimed at method and method development. The focus is on transformation and the glitch (gap) between different digital and analogue methods, tools and media. The forest’s design bank is the starting point in this transformation process, in which I use both digital and analogue tools to design objects with new and unique form expressions.
What I mean by “glitch” in this work is the gap between methods/tools/media where material/information disappears, emerges or changes. Through these methods, I attempt to examine the methods and design language of furniture designers and interior architects.

Skogen är en inspirerande formbank med sitt otämjda och komplexa uttryck.
Med dagens digitala verktyg, mer traditionella hantverksmetoder och en kombination av kontroll, slump och intuition i en designprocess med fokus på metod och metodutveckling. Fokuset ligger på transformation och glitchen (glappet) mellan olika digitala och analoga metoder, verktyg och medier. Skogens formbank är utgångspunkten i denna transformationsprocess, där jag med såväl digitala som analoga verktyg formger objekt med nya och unika formuttryck.
Vad jag menar med “glitch” i detta arbete är det glapp mellan metoder/verktyg/media och där material/information försvinner, tillkommer eller förändras. Genom dessa metoder försöker jag undersöka möbeldesigners och inredningsarkitekters arbetssätt och formspråk.
