An internet search of the phrase, ‘living in the future’, leads to articles on smart and maintenance-free homes that give us a feeling of freedom in our lives, smaller living spaces in favour of more shared ones and rooms that are both flexible in function and storage. But how can we adapt our homes to fit the needs of the future?
My degree project focuses on solutions for more activity-based housing in the future. Solutions that suit all types of homes with a focus on being easy to change as needed without requiring major changes in the home’s structure. The goal for the design proposal is to help us fit in everything we need for a full life no matter how many square meters we live in.
The design proposal LIST is a modular system with flexible functions such as hidden storage, room dividers and temporary work spaces. LIST is made of untreated wooden slats to create an natural and warm feeling in our homes. Choose between different types of wood or treat the slats with oil, stain or paint to create a unique expression in your LIST.
En internetsökning på frasen ”Framtidens boende” leder till spaningar om smarta och underhållsfria hem för att skapa en känsla av frihet i våra liv. Mindre boendeyta till förmån för fler gemensamma utrymmen och rum som har både flexibel funktion och förvaring. Men hur kan vi på ett enkelt sätt anpassa dagens hem efter framtidens behov?
Mitt examensarbete fokuserar därför på lösningar för ett mer aktivitetsbaserat boende i framtiden. Lösningar som passar alla typer av hem med fokus på att vara lätta att förändra efter behov och som inte kräver stora ingrepp i bostadens struktur. Designen ska hjälpa oss att få plats med allt vi behöver för att leva ett fullt liv, oavsett hur många kvadratmeter vi bor på.
LIST är ett modulärt system med flexibla funktioner så som dold förvaring, rumsavdelare och tillfälliga arbetsytor. Tillverkad av obehandlade träribbor för LIST in en naturlig och varm känsla i ditt hem. Välj mellan olika träslag eller behandla träribborna med olja, bets eller färg för att skapa ett unikt uttryck med just din LIST.
